Norden Old Library Opens
Friday 12th November marked a major milestone in the history of Norden Old Library,
when Trustees held an evening reception to officially open the newly-
The party marked the culmination of four years of hard work by the dedicated band
of seven Trustees to turn the former Norden District Council Offices into community
facilities. Guests were treated to a guided tour of Ground Floor rooms which now
feature a Community cafe area and a multi-

The gathering of invited guests heard Stephen Haslam describe the evening as the
culmination of years of effort by the Trustees, their advisers and supporters. He
went on to thank the children of two Trustees for allowing their parents to spend
so much time in the Building, before asking Mr Dennis Milne a senior citizen and
lifelong Norden resident to cut a ribbon and declare the Building open.
Norden Carnival Presents Cheque


One of many highlights of the Norden Old Library opening was the presentation by Rachel Blackburn, Chair of Norden Carnival Committee, of a cheque to boost the funds of the Trust.
