A building at the heart of the community available to all
Young -
A place to chill -
This is the Vision

Rooms are available to hire. Because we are a non profit making organisation, we set our room charges as low as possible, but we do have to cover our overheads such as building insurance, heating, lighting, maintenance and future development costs.
A single room is suitable for a group size of approximately 20 people or if both rooms are used (separated by a corridor) approximately 40 people can be accommodated. Each of the two rooms has a different layout and are suitable for various group activities i.e. chill out room, card making, meetings etc.
Please email NordenOldLibrary@googlemail.com for details. Please click here for the room availability calendar. Telephone 01706 645000

Volunteers Needed
To Help Old Library Garden Bloom Again
The Trustees of Norden Old Library will host a meeting for interested volunteers prepared to give some time to help transform the garden at the Building into a usable space.
The garden surrounding the former council offices were left as a blank canvas when
conversion work on the Building was completed last year. The purpose of the Meeting
which takes place at 2.00pm on Saturday 21st January at the Old Library is to ascertain
whether there are a sufficient number of Villagers prepared to help with this project.
The Trust is fortunate to have been granted ,by the Woodland Trust , 150 small hedging
plants, which will arrive at the end of January to kickstart the project.
Support for
the venture has come from Moulton College in Northamptonshire. Staff and students
at the College, which is one of the largest horticultural colleges in the country,
have produced a detailed landscaping and planting scheme for the Garden ,which will
be displayed at the Meeting. The scheme aims to transform the space to provide a
tranquil outdoor area, as well as some significant trees and shrubs.
Commenting on the latest chapter in the revival of the Old Library, Trustee Nigel
Morrell explained " This Meeting will give local people a unique opportunity to make
a significant contribution to the atmosphere and environment which are a key part
of the Building" ." We hope that the conversion of the garden will inspire Villagers
of all ages and abilities to participate in a very rewarding local project" said
Ian Moore Chair of Norden Community Trust.
There have already been expressions of interest from some of the villages younger
residents. Members of a youth group which meets every week at the Building have already
demonstrated their gardening abilities by volunteering at Moss Row and are prepared
to continue their work at the Old Library.
